Pure power took Turn The Page (NZ) (Vincent) to a big win in the A$35,000 Listed Race To The Roses (2503m) at Gloucester Park on Friday night.

The NZB Standardbred graduate sustained a wide run in the final 600m of the event to add another feature race title to her glittering resume in West Australia.

Turn The Page was purchased by Jean Feiss for just $19,000 when she was offered by breeder-vendors Alabar at the 2020 All Age Sale.

The classy mare began her New Zealand before her sale to clients of leading Western Australian owners Greg and Skye Bond.

After making a steady beginning in Friday night’s standing start event, Turn The Page settled off the pace for driver Deni Roberts.

Roberts moved the four-year-old out three wide near the 600m and her charge started a big sweeping run on the Gloucester Park track.

Despite covering more ground than her rivals inside her, Turn The Page proved too classy for a strong field.

Friday night’s win was Turn The Page’s ninth win in just 13 starts in Australia and her second victory at stakes level across the Tasman.

NZB Standardbreds showed their class across Gloucester Park’s harness racing programme on Friday night.

Mister Smartee (NZ) (Always B Miki) overcome a tricky barrier draw to win at microscopic odds for trainer Gary Hall Snr and driver Gary Hall Jnr.

The same combination produced another NZB Standardbred graduate to win as a red hot favourite.

The Black Flash (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight) proved far too slick for his rivals when leading throughout to score for Hall Snr and Hall Jnr.

The father and son training and driving combination sealed a treble of victories with NZB Standardbred graduates when Full Swing Denario (NZ) (Rocknroll Hanover) won impressively in two-year-old company.

Four wins from NZB Standardbred graduates contributed to the dominance of New Zealand breds at Gloucester Park on Friday.

New Zealand exports won six of 11 races at the feature meeting.
