NZB’s 2027 National Standardbred Yearling Sale will take place at the Karaka Sales Centre on Monday 15 February from 1pm, and at the RDA Building in Christchurch on Wednesday 17 February from 11am.

All horses purchased at the Sale are eligible for NZB Standardbred’s lucrative Harness Million Sales Race Series. The Series consists of principal two-year-old and three-year-old races for colts and geldings, fillies and trotters individually, where NZB Standardbred graduates can contest for their share in a one million dollar prizepool.

Despite a smaller offering in 2026, the Sale achieved a turnover of more than $12 million for 223 yearlings sold. The median increased, a new record price for a trotter was set, and 33 lots sold for $100,000 or more – healthy results for a compact catalogue.

While our sale results continue to deliver returns to breeders and vendors, our horses continue to deliver on the racetrack around the world. In fact, our graduates have gone on to win 123 Group One races plus no fewer than 324 stakes races since 2020 alone.

Entries for the Sale are open now and close at 5pm on Friday 31 July 2026. To nominate your yearlings for the 2027 National Yearling Sale, visit NZB Standardbred’s online portal at standardbred.portal.nzb.co.nz. For enquiries about the Portal, contact Grant Inglis (+64 9 298 0055 or email [email protected]). The entry fee is $1,450 plus GST, with an additional $350 + GST qualifying fee for the Harness Million Sales Race Series.
