Timely Derby Victory for Star Performer Aladdin (NZ)

19 April 2021

Aladdin wins the Group Three South Australian Pacing Derby (2230m).

Buyers will get plenty of opportunities to secure relatives to NZB Standardbred’s latest stakes race winner at the upcoming National Weanling Sale held at Karaka on Monday 3 May.

Several catalogued lots are close relations to Saturday night’s A$30,000 Group Three SA BOTRA South Australian Pacing Derby (2230m) winner Aladdin (NZ) (Sweet Lou).

The three-year-old added to his glittering record, remaining unbeaten in Australia after powering away from his rivals to win by more by than six metres for trainer Greg Norman and driver Kerryn Manning.

Prolific owner Jean Feiss purchased Aladdin for $140,000 at NZB Standardbred’s 2019 National Yearling Sale in Auckland from Woodlands Stud’s draft.

Feiss and her husband Bill raced the pacer until they sold him to fellow Australian owners Adam, Terry and Ben Cormack late last year.

The hottest of favourites at $1.10 win odds, Aladdin never looked in doubt when leading throughout at Globe Derby Park.

Aladdin’s Group Three South Australian Pacing Derby win furthered his outstanding     three-year-old season.

The star pacer won the $200,000 Listed NZB Standardbred Harness Million 3YO Colts & Geldings Final (2200m) at Alexandra Park in December.
