Thirty Yearlings at NZB’s All Aged Sale

New Zealand Bloodstock’s 2019 All Aged Sale presents another opportunity for buyers to secure a Harness Million Series eligible yearling with 30 lots on offer between the Christchurch Sale on 29 April and the Auckland Sale on 6 May.

 

The Sale includes three yearlings by Bettor’s Delight, including the first foal from five-time Group One winner Fight For Glory consigned by Diamond Head Lodge at Lot 19.

Beaudiene Breeding’s Lot 22 is a grandson of Ambro Innocence who recorded 13 New Zealand wins and paced 1.51.8 in America, while Ripple Creek’s Lot 41 is a colt out of winning mare Returntorocknroll. He is closely related to Bettor Rock On, a multiple winner in New Zealand, Australia and The United States, as well as Bettor’s Fire who scored victories in on both sides of the Tasman.

 

Brian West offers a seven-strong yearling draft under his banner Studholme Bloodstock. His first yearling to enter the auction ring will begin the Yearling session at Lot 18. A daughter of Roll With Joe, the sire who West was a big supporter of, this filly descends from Tuapeka Dancer and Maureens Dream.

 

Broken in filly Lot 33, by Somebeachsomewhere out of dual Nevele R Fillies Heat winner Zingara, is from the family of Black Watch, while Lot 46 is an Art Major colt out of the Delightful Lady Classic winner Collectable, a family that West has successfully bred from, including Defoe. Lot 42, an eye-catching colt by A Rocknroll Dance, will also be offered through his draft.

 

Another well-related colt by A Rocknroll Dance will be presented as Lot 44 on account of Dunvegan Lodge. He is out of a half-sister to Victoria Cup winner Breenys Fella and another two black-type winners.

 

The popular Sweet Lou has a large number of progeny entered in the Sale as well as mares that have been served by him. He will be represented in the Yearling session by a filly at Lot 43 offered on account of Penny Boyle. She is out of a sister to the dam of Talk To Me Courage, a winner of 17 races in Australia and 30 in The United States.

 

Two Raging Bull colts will be offered at the Christchurch Sale on account of the Nevills with Lot 27 from the family of Terror To Love and Lot 37 out of a sister to two black-type winners in the United States. Myrtle McCarthy has two yearling fillies in her draft, both half-sisters to four winners. Lot 24 descends from Heather Franco while Lot 39 descends from Sakuntala.

 

It’s not only the pacing yearlings that are related to outstanding performers, Lot 25 by Quite Easy is a brother to dual Group One-winning trotter Quite a Moment who scored six wins in New Zealand and 10 wins in Australia. This colt is also a half-brother to a further eight winners and is consigned by Phoebe Standardbreds.

 

Entering the auction ring immediately after at Lot 26 will be a colt by top-producing trotting sire Master Glide. Out of multiple-winning mare Lisa Marie, he will be offered on account of Maria Perriton.

 

Rounding out the three trotting yearlings in the Christchurch Sale will be Lot 31, a colt by One Over Da Moon out of multiple winner Oh So Special. His second dam Pretty Special is a sister to Buster Hanover who won 18 races in New Zealand and a further seven in Australia, including an Inter-Dominion Grand Final.

 

All unbroken yearlings offered at the All Aged Sale are eligible to be entered into the NZB Harness Million Series, with majority of them staked at the bottom of the pedigree page.
