NZB’s 2019 All Aged Sale Catalogue Available for Viewing

NZB Standardbred’s 2019 All Aged Sale can now be viewed online with printed catalogues arriving in letterboxes late March.

NZB Standardbred’s 2019 All Aged Sale catalogue is now online.

 

The Canterbury Agricultural Park will host the Christchurch Sale on Monday 29 April with 71 lots going under the hammer, while the iconic Karaka Sale Centre will showcase the Auckland Sale on Monday 6 May where 136 lots are catalogued.

Buyers will have the opportunity to invest in a wide range of bloodstock at the Christchurch Sale with 11 weanlings, 29 yearlings, two two-year-olds, five unraced lots, seven racehorses including five to have won and 17 broodmares.

The Auckland Sale is predominately made up of 119 weanlings with 58 and 57 to be catalogued by Woodlands and Alabar Studs respectively. The sale opens with 14 broodmares and 3 yearlings.

Across the two locations, there are 26 pacing and 12 trotting sires represented by weanlings, yearlings or in foal mares. Leading pacing sire Bettor’s Delight has three yearlings plus 3 racing stock entered in Christchurch and five weanlings at Karaka. Art Major has five weanlings entered at Auckland plus a yearling and three in foal mares between the two venues. Largest representataion is by Sweet Lou with 26 weanlings at Karaka, a yearling in Christchurch and seven in foal mares between the two sales.

New sires represented include Always B Miki, Betting Line, Pet Rock, Racing Hill and the first mares in foal to the dual Derbies and Auckland Cup winner Vincent.

Leading Trotting Sire Majestic Son and Pegasus Spur have five weanlings each in the northern sale and outstanding sire Love You has a filly from a race winning daughter of Martina H.

The strength of the catalogue is bolstered by representation of some of our strongest families including fillies related to Adore Me and Dream About Me, to Pacing Grace and recent Young Guns winner Smooth Deal and to Victor Supreme and Utmost Delight. There are siblings to Group One winners the likes of Besotted, Inspire, Maczaffair, Quite A Moment and Texican. As well as the progeny of Group One winning dams Arden Banner, Fight For Glory and Safin.

Breckon Farms offer five mares from daughters of Angela Patron, Ciccio Star, Corbie and Vicario. There are close relatives entered to the likes of Alta Christiano, Awesome Armbro, Cheer the Lady, De Lovely, Isaiah, Maxim, Smarty Pants and NZ Cup winner The Fixer. Plus there are trotting relatives to Flying Isa, Inda Bank, Landora’s Pride, Our Sunny Whiz, Prime Power, Sheemon, Sovereignty and Sundon.

For the first time both weanlings and yearlings on offer can be made eligible for the NZB Harness Million Series with approximately $1 million in prizemoney up for contention. Opportunity exists through NZB Finance to invest in fillies and mares and as well to pinhook for the 2019 Ready to Run Sale or the 2020 National Yearling Sales.

Christchurch Sale at Canterbury Agricultural Park

In a first, this will be a dual code sale with the NZB South Island Thoroughbred Yearling Sale offering 61 lots and commencing at 11.00am. The Standardbred auction will commence at 2.00pm with the broodmares and run through in the order of yearlings, weanlings and culminating in the raced and unraced horses.

Auckland Sale at Karaka

With such a large number of weanlings on offer at Auckland the major drafts will be on the complex and available for viewing on Sunday 5 May from 1.00pm through to 4.00pm. The sale commences with the broodmares at 11.00am on the Monday, followed by yearlings and weanlings.
