The progeny of the stars of the standardbred siring world have added incredible depth to the outstanding catalogue confirmed for the 2024 National Yearling Sales at Karaka and Christchurch on February 18 and 20-21.

Bloodstock investors can bid with full confidence in the stock of champion sires such as Bettor’s Delight (USA) and American Ideal (USA), Always B Miki (USA), Art Major (USA), and Captaintreacherous (USA) to name just a few.

Bettor’s Delight has produced a stunning lineup of racetrack stars who have gone from the yearling sales ring to stardom at the elite level over his stunning twenty-year career.

NZB Graduates Akuta (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight), Don’t Stop Dreaming (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight), We Walk By Faith (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight) and Sooner The Bettor (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight) have kept the champion sire’s name up in lights throughout 2023.

Bettor’s Delight’s stellar class of 2024 yearlings includes 24 youngsters to be offered at Karaka and a further 46 of the stallion’s stock to be sold at Christchurch.

  • That incredible lineup includes Lot 5, a full brother to top-level performers Another Masterpiece (NZ), and Invitation Only (NZ).
  • Lot 20 is a full sibling to former top-line race fillies Spanish Armada (NZ).
  • Lot 30 is a full sister is another outstanding Group One winning mare in Elle Mac (NZ).
  • Lot 136 is a full brother to Group One performers Republican Party (NZ), and Advance Party (NZ).
  • A full brother-to-star pacers turned sires Ultimate Machete (NZ) and Ultimate Sniper (NZ) will be on offer in Lot 264.
  • Investors will also have the chance to secure a full brother to the outstanding Group One winning NZB Standardbred graduate Don’t Stop Dreaming (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight) in Lot 294.

The sire's outstanding results in New Zealand have been headed by his brilliant and unbeaten NZ Standardbred graduate Millwood Nike (NZ) (Captaintreacherous).

A select offering of 12 Captaintreacherous yearlings will be offered at Karaka with a further nine to be sold at Christchurch.

  • Lot 13, a colt from the multiple Group One winning mare Elle Mac (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight).
  • Lot 64 is a filly by Captaintreacherous out of another multiple Group One winning mare, Princess Tiffany (NZ) (Art Major).
  • Lot 146, a colt from the outstanding family of champion producer Scuse Me (NZ) (B G’s Bunny).
  • Buyers can also secure a half-brother to NZB Standardbred Harness Million winner Cold Chisel (Always B Miki) in Lot 294.

The recent deeds of dual Group One derby winner and NZB Standardbred graduate Merlin (NZ) show that the stallion’s results have also culminated in Art Major leading the New Zealand two-year-old sires’ premiership.

Art Major will be represented by 10 yearlings that will go through the Karaka sales ring, with a further eight to be offered at Christchurch.

  • Lot 8, a colt from the multiple race-winning mare Dina Brown (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight).
  • Lot 82 is the son of another outstanding former race mare in Sloane Square (NZ) (Christian Cullen).
  • Lot 209 is from a strong maternal family, from the daughter of champion Group One performer Kiwi Ingenuity (NZ) (Christian Cullen).
  • Lot 332 is a half-sister to the Group One performer's Manhattan (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight) and No Matter Wat (NZ) (A Rocknroll Dance).

Outstanding performers SkyLou (NZ), Spirit Of St Louis (NZ) (Sweet Lou), Celtic Spirit (NZ) (Sweet Lou) and Sweet Diamond (NZ) (Sweet Lou) have been among the sire’s progeny who have racked up wins for their sire in 2023.

A select draft of three yearlings by Sweet Lou will be offered at Karaka with a further nine youngsters to be offered at Christchurch.

  • Lot 73, a colt from the multiple race-winning mare Some Do (Bettor’s Delight).
  • Lot 321, a filly from Timeless Perfection (NZ) (Christian Cullen) the dam of six winners.
  • Adding further depth is Lot 380, a colt from the multiple Group One winner in Carabella (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight)

 

Always B Miki (USA)

Always B Miki (USA)

NZB Standardbred graduates Cold Chisel (NZ), Franco Indie (NZ), and Aardies Express (NZ) have been amongst the stallion’s brightest stars during a highly successful 2023 racing season.

22 Always B Miki yearlings are set to be sold at Karaka with 48 of the stallions’ youngsters at Christchurch to make up a stellar draft.

  • Lot 29, a colt from the family of multiple Group One winner turned sire Gold Ace (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight).
  • Lot 46 is a filly from the Group One winning mare Linda Lovegrace (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight).
  • Lot 98 is a filly from a Group One winning mare, as well as a Group One producer in Veste (NZ) (Christian Cullen).
  • Quality race mare and producer Natal Franco (NZ) (Badlands Hanover) will be represented by an Always B Miki filly in Lot 241.
  • The first foal from multiple stakes-race performer Lulu Le Mans (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight) will be offered in Lot 225.
