NZB Standardbred’s Siblings to the Stars

There are over 120 siblings to stakes winners in the 2023 catalogue.

With a string of racetrack successes in New Zealand and Australia, there is no better time to secure the next generation of kiwi talent from NZB Standardbred’s 2023 National Yearling Sale at Auckland and Christchurch. 

This year’s catalogue features over 120 siblings to stakes winners, including headline acts from Australasia’s show-stopping races last season.

During the 2022 season alone NZB Standardbred graduates claimed 17 Group One races, with siblings to Group One winners Akuta (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight), Copy That (NZ) (American Ideal), Highgrove (NZ) (Love You) (I) Cast No Shadow (NZ) (Shadow Play) and King Of Swing (NZ) (Rocknroll Hanover) all featured.
 

Auckland Talent

  • Lot 6 is full brother to multiple Group One-winning mare PartyOn (NZ), who has secured victories on both sides of the Tasman including the Group One Harness Jewels 2YO Diamond, Northern Oaks, 2YO Breeders Crown and the NSW Oaks. The colt is by Bettor’s Delight out of Beach Parade (NZ) (Beach Towel) and is offered by Woodlands Stud.
  • Tardina Stud will offer Lot 36, a Downbytheseaside colt out of winning mare Delicata (NZ) (Falcon Seelster). This lot is a half-brother to multiple Group One winner Chase Auckland (NZ) (Auckland Reactor), winner of the Group One Northern Derby and NZ Sires Stakes 3YO Final.
  • Lot 63 is a Captaintreacherous colt offered by Breckon Farms. This lot’s dam is prolific Group One winner Elle Mac (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight), who has won at an elite level and a two, three and four-year-old. Lot 74, also offered by Breckon Farms, is a half-sister to Elle Mac, a filly by Captaintreacherous out of Goodlookinggirl (NZ) (Christian Cullen).

  • Offered by Woodlands Stud, Lot 79 is an American Ideal colt out of Lively Nights (NZ), who is a full brother to talented Group One winner Copy That (NZ). 
  • Lot 92 is a colt by emerging sire Vincent out of Bettor’s Delight mare Piccadilly Princess (NZ). Offered by Hollis & Robertson Equine Services, this lot’s dam is a five-time Group One winner.
  • Lot 103 is a Captaintreacherous colt out of PartyOn (NZ) offered by Breckon Farms.
  • Consigned by McGowan Partnership is Lot 108, a filly by Sebastian K out of Monarchy mare Rosemaryz Luck (NZ). This lot is a half-sister to the Group One 2022 Australian Trotting Grand Prix winner Majestuoso (NZ) (Majestic Son).
  • Lot 123 is a Bettor’s Delight colt out of Group One-winning dam Twist And Twirl (NZ), who recently received the 2022 New Zealand Pacing Broodmare of Excellence award. This lot hails from an exceptional Breckon Farms’ family, being a full brother to multiple Group One winner Bettor Twist (NZ) and a half-brother to prolific Group One-winning King Of Swing (Rocknroll Hanover).
  • Lot 125 is a Captain Crunch colt out of Group One-winning mare Veste (NZ), making him a half-brother to talented NZB Standardbred graduate It’s All About Faith (NZ) (Captaintreacherous). This Lot is offered by Hollis & Robertson Equine Services.

Akuta (NZ)
  • Lot 146 is a colt by Southwind Frank out of Focus On Me (NZ) (S J’s Photo). Offered by Macca Lodge, this lot is a half-brother to Group One 2022 Northern Trotting Derby winner Highgrove (NZ) (Love You). 
  • Offered on account of Laura Smith, Lot 174 is a filly by Muscle Hill out of Pegasus Spur mare Paramount Faith (NZ). This lot is a full sister to 2021 Group One New Zealand Trotting Championship winner Muscle Mountain (NZ).
  • Lot 177 is a Love You colt consigned by Tarryn Jones. This lot’s dam, Quite A Moment (NZ) (Quite Easy) is a Group One winner and multiple Group One placed.
  • White Stables will offer a colt (Lot 180) by second season sire En Solitaire out of multiple Group One-winning Sundon mare One Over Kenny (NZ). This Lot is a half-sibling to three Group winners including One Over Da Moon (NZ) (Majestic Son), Ultimate Stride (Love You) and One Over All (NZ) (Angus Hall).
  • Offered by Renwick Farm, Lot 199 is a colt by Bettor’s Delight out of Christian Cullen mare Adore To Our Dreams (NZ), making him a full brother to leading NZB Standardbred graduate and multiple Group One winner Akuta (NZ). 
  • Lot 215, a Bettor’s Delight filly out of Bagdarin (NZ) (Live Or Die), is a half-sister to 2019 US Harness Horse of the Year Shartin (NZ) (Tintin In America). This lot is offered on account of G. J. Crabbe.
  • Lot 240 is a Bettor’s Delight filly out of Christian Dreamer (NZ) (Christian Cullen) offered by Shard Farm, making her a full sister to ten-time Group One winner Amazing Dream (NZ), as well as Group One winner (Lets) Chase The Dream (NZ).
  • Lot 334 is a Betting Line colt out of (Its) My Style (NZ) (McArdle) and is a half-brother to multiple Group One winner in New South Wales The Black Prince (NZ (Bettor’s Delight). This lot is offered by Studholme Bloodstock.
  • Offered by Pinelea Farm, Lot 355 is a half-brother to the 2022 Inter Dominion Championship winner (I) Cast No Shadow (NZ) (Shadow Play). The colt is by Art Major out of Ragazza Bromac (NZ) (Falcon Seelster).


NZB Standardbred’s 2023 National Yearling Sale will take place in Auckland on Sunday 19 February, with selling continuing in Christchurch from Monday 20 to Wednesday 22 February.

All yearlings will be inspected by NZB Standardbred agents at the 2023 on-farm parades, who are available to take inspection notes or complete evaluations on behalf of buyers.
