$100,000 Triple Crown Takes Off

4 October 2019

New Zealand Bloodstock today announced a new Triple Crown Series for pacing mares set to offer a significant $100,000 bonus for the 2019-20 season.

The NZB Airfreight Triple Crown Bonus* will feature three pacing races for mares 4 years and older with the first of the races scheduled at Addington Raceway on 15 November.

Combined Stakes for the three races is $130,000 – with the additional $100,000 bonus paid to the registered owners of the mare that wins all three races in the current season.

“We’re delighted to bring such a significant bonus prize to the harness racing industry,” said NZB Airfreight’s Greg Northcott.

“Along with our sponsorship of track signage at the two major venues and our involvement with the Inter Dominion Series – adding this incentive is just another way we can support the many owners and trainers”.

The NZB Airfreight Triple Crown Series has been well supported by Addington Raceway and the Auckland Trotting Club, along with Harness Racing New Zealand.

“At a time where Stakes money is challenging, it’s incredible to see NZB investing more into the market,” said HRNZ Racing and Marketing Manager Darrin Williams.

“We’re thrilled to support the initiative and look forward to watching the fields unfold.”
