Major Pedigree Updates for 2020 Catalogue

Since the catalogue went to print at the beginning of November, elite races across New Zealand and Australia have delivered a series of major pedigree updates to the NZB Standardbred 2020 National Yearling Sale catalogue. 

Lot 369 is three-quarter brother to Group One winner Ultimate Sniper (NZ).

Most notably, yearlings on offer at the Auckland and Christchurch Sales are related to a number of current Group One performers.

Lot 369 is three-quarter brother to 2019 Group One Inter Dominion Pacing Champion Ultimate Sniper (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight), also from the family is Lot 250. Lot 303 is a half-sister to 2019 Inter Dominion runner-up Mach Shard (NZ) (Mach Three), while Lots 187, 243 and 271 are also closely related to the Barry Purdon-trained gelding.  

Lot 334 is from the family of Group One New Zealand Trotting Cup winner Cruz Bromac (NZ) (Falcon Seelster), while Lot 329 is a half-brother to runner-up Spankem (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight).

Offered at Karaka, Lot 87 is a three-quarter sister to 2018/19 Two-Year-Old Pacer of the Year One Change (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight). Lots 244 and 248 are also related to the Group One-winning colt.  

Across the Tasman, King of Swing (NZ) (Rocknroll Hanover) recently took out the AUS$500,000 Group One Hunter Cup in Australia and provided an update to Lots 43, 258, 263, 320 and 387.

Lot 74 is a full-brother to Line Up (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight), winner of Australia’s oldest classic harness race in the Group One Victoria Derby.

Lot 239 offered at Christchurch is a full-sister to Group One Victoria Oaks winner Dr Susan (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight).

Lot 352 is from the family of the Group One Ladyship Cup winner Belle Of Montana (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight).

Lot 343 is closely related to Group One City of Perth Worldwide Cup winner  Mighty Conqueror (NZ) (American Ideal).

Lot 356 is a half-brother to Group One New Zealand Sire’s Stakes victor Amazing Dream (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight).

Lot 163 is closely related to recent Group Two and Three winner Oscar Bonavena (NZ) (Majestic Son).

Lot 345 is a half-sibling to recent Group Two performer in Australia, Vampiro (NZ) (Rocknroll Hanover), after the gelding won the Village Kid Sprint in December.

From Monday 17 February through until the conclusion of selling on Wednesday 19, selling at the Auckland and Christchurch Sale will be beamed to viewers on Freeview Channel 200.

Standardbred enthusiasts will also get up-to-the minute coverage streamed live at www.nzbstandardbred.co.nz and on Facebook, which includes coverage of both parades.

The format will see Trackside’s Greg O’Connor host a 15-minute preview show prior to the Auckland Parade and Sale plus the Christchurch Sale, bringing highlights and interviews from Karaka and Canterbury Agricultural Park, along with all the action from the Sale ring.
