Entries Open for 2027 National Yearling Sale
1 July 2026
Entries for NZB Standardbred’s 2027 National Yearling Sale are now open, with the Sale taking place next summer at Karaka on Monday 15 February and at Christchurch on Wednesday 17 February.
The National Yearling Sale continues to be the harness racing industry’s flag bearing event and source of racetrack champions.
Despite a smaller offering in 2026, the Sale achieved a turnover of more than $12 million for 223 yearlings sold. The median increased, a new record price for a trotter was set, and 33 lots sold for $100,000 or more.
“While our sale results continue to deliver returns to breeders and vendors, our horses continue to deliver on the racetrack around the world,” commented NZB Standardbred Manager Cam Bray.
NZB Standardbred graduates have gone on to win 123 Group One races plus no fewer than 324 stakes races since 2020 alone.
“We’ve seen impressive achievements both in the ring and on the racetrack, and we are confident that with our breeders full support of high‑quality yearlings, the 2027 National Yearling Sale will be another successful edition,” added Bray.
“The team are looking forward to getting out and about around the country over the coming months to inspect the yearlings, as we put aim to put together another exceptional catalogue.”
Entries for the Sale are open now and close at 5pm on Friday 31 July 2026.
