The first-ever catalogue under the NZB banner has attracted a total of 401 yearlings and will be conducted over four action-packed days of parades and selling at two locations.

“We are very pleased to be offering the first standardbred catalogue with such a quality selection of yearlings,” commented NZB Director James Jennings.

“We have the industry’s breeders to thank for their tremendous support, and we look forward to welcoming buyers to the Sale and offering our comprehensive services to them.”

Buyers will have the opportunity to invest into the bloodlines of 31 pacing and trotting sires, including yearlings by dual-hemisphere Champion Sire Bettor’s Delight. With a record offering, he will be represented by 118 lots at Auckland and Christchurch.

  • Other leading sires with pacing progeny at the Sale include Art Major, Somebeachsomewhere, American Deal, Sportswriter, Captaintreacherous, A Rocknroll Dance and He’s Watching.
  • The trotting session will also offer a quality selection of sires including leading sires Majestic Son, Muscle Hill, Love You, Muscle Mass and Pegasus Spur.

The strength of the catalogue is bolstered by the families of stakes performers. There are siblings to 56 Group One winners as well as the progeny of 19 Group One-winning dams.

The 401 yearlings will be offered by 91 vendors from the length of the country with all lots eligible for the new NZB Harness Million Sales Series. Other series include:

  • 287 lots eligible for the Australasian Breeders Crown, 112 fillies nominated for the Nevele R 3YO Fillies Series, 85 Bathurst Gold Crown eligible horses, 84 Caduceus Club Fillies Series eligible fillies, 40 Vicbred Super Series nominated horses and 16 horses that are eligible for the Need for Speed Trotters Series.
