Dave Kennedy of Beaudiene Breeding sold 100% of his 2023 National Yearling Sale draft in Christchurch this year. The Southern-based vendor was thrilled by his results, with all yearlings heading to great homes.
2023 National Yearling Sale | Peter Lagan
Agent Peter Lagan secured the highest priced yearling on behalf of West Australian buyer Jim Giumelli. Lagan purchased Lot 364, a colt by Bettor’s Delight out of Group Two-winning mare Safedra (NZ) (Mach Three) for $230,000, offered by Laura Smith.
2023 National Yearling Sale | Thomas Patterson
Thomas Patterson, part owner of Lot 301, was thrilled with the sale of his colt by freshman sire Captain Crunch out of Kensington Kate. This lot was purchased for $125,000 by Cran Dalgety of Kentuckiana Lodge.
2023 National Standardbred Sale | Peter Lagan
Agent Peter Lagan purchased Lot 240, a filly by Bettor’s Delight out of Christian Dreamer on behalf of Jim Giumelli. The stunning yearling was secured for $190,000 from Shard Farm’s draft.

Young gun trainer Regan Todd discussed the purchase of Lot 247, a colt Better’s Delight out of Cullens Bet. The yearling was purchased by Phill and Glenys Kennard for $100,000 from Barron Bloodstock’s draft.

Vendor John Stiven of Arden Lodge was thrilled with the sale of Lot 212, a Captaintreacherous colt out of Arden’s Choice. The yearling was purchased by Stonewall Stud for $140,000.

Trainer Scott Phelan purchased Lot 200 for $160,000 on behalf of Dean Shannon’s Montana Park. The Art Major colt out of Agree With Me was offered by Spreydon Lodge.
2023 National Yearling Sale | Tony Herlihy
Auckland-based trainer Tony Herlihy purchased the second highest-priced trotter, securing Lot 179, a colt by second season sire Tactical Landing out of San Diego Love (NZ) (Love You) for $100,000.
2023 National Yearling Sale | Todd Anderson
Todd Anderson of Taffy Ltd offered two stunning trotting yearlings on Day One of NZB Standardbred’s Christchurch Sale. Consigned by Laura Smith, the Muscle Hill filly sold for $130,000, while the Tactical Landing colt sold for $100,000.

Steve Dolan purchased Lot 145, a colt by Creatine out of Duchess Diedre for $52,500. The trainer was pleased to secure the trotting colt from G. M. Murray’s draft.
